Swedish National Theater On TourI use a M2 centurion in my work at the Swedish National Theater. I work as Stage Manager on tours around Sweden, and it’s my job to have control of every thing and every one. So, I use it with a blue filter during the show, and flip the lid under the rest of the work. Mikael E., Stage Manager, Hagersten, Sweden |
No Mickey Mouse FlashlightI work at Disneyland part time and do a lot of guest (crowd) control for Fantasmic, parades, special events, etc. The standard issue is an anemic 2-D cell flashlight with a traffic cone on it. Many times the guests climb up on walls or fences to get a better view of the show. This is a very naughty thing to do as they might fall and get hurt and sue Disneyland. So, after trying to get the guest's attention with the joke flashlight Disney issues me, I break out my mighty SureFire G2 with the high output bulb (115 lumens, I think) and blast them! It NEVER FAILS TO GET THEIR ATTENTION!! I love it! Only a stun gun could be more effective. Thanks for a fantastic product! Disneyland Crowd Controller, Riverside, CA, United States |
Lights Out 600 Feet UndergroundI work in television production. When shooting news or other location productions, I need to be prepared for a variety of environments. One shoot involved covering the construction of a new water tunnel 600 feet underground in Brooklyn, N.Y. Everything was fine until a water drainage problem caused the work lights to go out. I had my SureFire E2 with me. I pointed it at a white construction tarp hanging on the tunnel wall to diffuse the directional nature of the light. The result not only illuminated the 30-foot diameter of the tunnel but gave me enough light to illuminate the subject and get our sound bite while we waited for the lights to be repaired from electricians on the surface. Awesome product! Television Producer, Flushing, NY, United States |
Generator Failure On Set in New MexicoAs a video producer, while taping a night scene on a remote desert set in New Mexico, our generator failed. This particular scene called for minimal light to be spilled on 2 actors. Rather than wrap for the night, I whipped out my SureFire Executive and to the amazement of the entire crew, the scene went off without a hitch. It also saved a lot of money in production dollars. Thanks, SUREFIRE! Bill W., Visionary Productions, Ltd., Edgewood, NM, USA |
Lighting Africa for ABCI use my SureFire 6P daily as an operator of a microwave truck for the local ABC affiliate in Denver. Since my working hours are after dark, I depend upon the 6P to make sure there are no overhead power lines before extending the mast on the truck. I have also used the 6P as a camera light in Africa and Europe. More than once I have used it to illuminate the subject of my video while the light was fastened to the top of the baseball cap on my head. Great even beam pattern, long run time, and highly portable. Mike F., Television Production Crew, Denver, CO, United States |
You Guys Light Up My Nightlife!I work backstage at one of the largest rock clubs in New Jersey. I'm constantly climbing in dark or near dark conditions around, over, under all kinds of amps, gear, wires, rigging and lighting truss. The band gets the spotlights. I only get what light I bring to work with me. It’s quite dark backstage behind the band, let me tell you. But since I bought a SureFire 6P three years ago, it’s quite bright. Once a side spotlight went out on a band and I had to crawl on the side of the stage to reconnect the power cable to the can. I was using my 6P to find my way and the stage lighting guy said it looked about as bright as the small side spot I was fixing! He was 250 feet away! He bought a 6P the next day. I've used other manufacturers’ lights, but none compares to the output and size of your flashlights. Road crews with their mass of m**lights, even the big ones, can’t believe that my pocket light blows away their five-cell lights. A lot of guys on the road crews are starting to buy SureFire after seeing the light intensity they possess. All I can say is your lights are FANTASTIC tools for people who use lights daily in their work. Keep it up! You guys light up my nightlife! Incredible TV Lighting Job in SewerI am a director of photography and I've been using a SureFire flashlight to light actors. I was in Slovakia filming a miniseries on the Warsaw Uprising for NBC. I had many scenes set in sewers and couldn't imagine how to light the actors. Among my assistants the trend was to own SureFire flashlights so I discovered these amazingly powerful lamps and ordered a few. I gave some to the actors, which they used hidden inside period flashlights. I kept a few to bounce on white cards or use directly. I even used them under water. There is one shot of a baby under water whose face is lit by a SureFire flashlight. Denis L., Television Production Photographer, Los Angeles, CA, United States |
